BBC Radio 2, the official radio partner of the Olivier Awards, will continue to broadcast live radio coverage of the ceremony, as they have done in previous years, with the program going out live from 6 PM, presented by the station's Ken Bruce.
Radio 2 will also broadcast the nominations announcement on March 26 at 11:30 AM, live from an industry reception being held at London's Mayfair Hotel. Matilda the Musical, which won seven Olivier Awards last year, will perform at the nominations event.
The Olivier Awards ceremony will be hosted by two-time Olivier winner Sheridan Smith (for her appearances in Legally Blonde and Flare Path), with voice-overs provided by Julia McKenzie, another double Olivier winner.
A live relay of the awards show will be made to the Covent Garden Piazza on big screens, with live performances on the Radio 2 stage. The 2013 awards will once again include the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for the Most Popular Show, decided entirely by members of the public. Voting was launched on Elaine Paige's radio show on Jan. 27 and will close March 18.
Votes for the audience award and further details can be found on www.OlivierAwards.com. Ampitheatre tickets to the Olivier Awards 2013 are on sale via www.pricelesslondon.co.uk.
