News London's Pizza on the Park Will Relaunch in March; McGovern, Marcovicci and More to Perform London's Pizza on the Park, which in the 1980s and 1990s was London's leading musical cabaret venue, will permanently reopen in March as a supper club under the stewardship of American performer/impresario Jeff Harnar.

The new season will kick off under the umbrella title of The American Songbook in London: Harnar will inaugurate the season himself with a black-tie opening March 3 and will perform there through March 7.

Harnar will be followed into the club with two-week engagements by Liliane Montevecchi (March 10-21), Steve Ross (March 24-April 4), Tony Desare (April 7-18), KT Sullivan (April 21-May 2), Paula West (May 5-16), Maureen McGovern (May 19-30), Andrea Marcovicci (June 2-13) and Maude Maggart (June 16-27). Christine Ebsersole, Karen Akers and Alison Jiear are amongst those also scheduled to do engagements, at dates to be announced. Each artist will appear for runs Tuesdays to Thursdays at 8 PM and Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and 10:30 PM.

On Sundays and Mondays, Harnar will host The 1959 Broadway Songbook, a musical revue celebrating the 50th anniversary of that memorable year in the Golden Age of Broadway – amongst the 21 musicals that ran on Broadway that season were Gypsy, The Sound of Music, Fiorello, My Fair Lady, West Side Story, The Music Man and Bells are Ringing. Harnar will be joined onstage by Anna Bergman, who appeared in the original New York production of the revue at 59E59 Theaters, as well as Susannah Fellowes and Nathan Martin.

Harnar, who has previously brought The American Songbook in London series to Jermyn Street Theatre for two successful runs in 2007 and 2008, commented in a press statement that this new collaboration with Pizza on the Park is "a personal dream realized." Harnar will be based in London to program and host live entertainment at the club across seven nights a week on an ongoing basis.

Montevecchi will reprise her solo show Back on the Boulevard, which she previously presented both at Pizza on the Park and Jermyn Street Theatre. Ross will return as part of The American Songbook in London season for his third year to perform the songs of Alan Jay Lerner in a program entitled I Remember Him Well. Desare will make his London debut with a show entitled Mercer, Moon River and Me that celebrates the centennial of lyricist Johnny Mercer. Sullivan pays tribute to Jerome Kern in her show. West makes her Pizza on the Park debut. McGovern will perform a show based on her new CD "A Long and Winding Road," celebrating singer/songwriters of the sixties such as Lennon and McCartney, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon. Marcovicci returns for her second year with the series to perform her show Andrea Marcovicci Sings Rodgers and Hart. Maggart returns for the third year to perform Speaking of Dreams.
