Film and stage actor Neil Patrick Harris celebrates his birthday June 15. The actor, who made his Broadway debut in 2000 as Hal in Proof, was last on Broadway in the revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch in 2004, earning the star a Tony Award for his performance in the title role.

Written by John Cameron Mitchel and Stephen Trask, Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of fictional rock and roll band the Angry Inch, fronted by Hedwig—an East German transgender singer. The acclaimed revival, directed by Michael Mayer, opened at the Belasco Theatre April 22, 2014. In addition Harris’ award, the production also earned Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Musical, Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Lena Hall, and Best Lighting Design of a Musical for Kevin Adams.
