Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock—The Musical celebrates two years on Broadway today. The show officially opened December 6, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre with Alex Brightman in the starring role.
School of Rock is based on the popular 2003 Paramount Pictures film about down-and-out rock guitarist Dewey Finn, who takes a job as a substitute teacher. But instead of sticking to the syllabus, he teaches his kids about the glory of rock, organizes them into a rock group, and enters them in a Battle of the Bands.
