Luft, the daughter of the late Judy Garland, took her one-woman-show Songs My Mother Taught Me to the West End's Savoy Theatre in 2004. She has also appeared on Broadway in Promises, Promises and Off-Broadway in Snoopy and Extremities. Babes in Arms, which premiered at the Shubert Theatre in 1937, focuses on a group of bright young adults who want to take their show from a barn to Broadway. Garland appeared in the 1939 movie version. The show's list of classic songs include "The Lady Is a Tramp," "My Funny Valentine" and "Johnny One Note."

The cast at Chichester will also include Mark McGee, Donna Steele and Sophia Ragavelas. The season opens with Alan Bennett's written-for-television double-bill "Green Forms" and "A Visit from Miss Prothero." Collectively entitled Office Suite, the plays are about mundane office life. Patricia Routledge stars in both.

Also at Chichester, Patrick Stewart plays the title role in Macbeth and also Malvolio in Twelfth Night. Both plays are staged at the Minerva Theatre, with Macbeth officially opening on June 1 and Twelfth Night on July 20.
