News Los Angeles Hit Jewtopia Extends to May 9 and May Head for Off-Broadway in Summer The Los Angeles sell-out hit Jewtopia has extended its run through May 9 in California. Producers are in final talks to bring the work to Off-Broadway this summer.

Frank Yablans and WEJ Productions present the world premiere production of Jewtopia, written by and starring Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson which opened on May 8th, 2003. Andy Fickman (Reefer Madness) directs the work at the Coast Playhouse in West Hollywood.

The show, which will celebrate its one-year anniversary in Los Angeles has announced that Jewtopia is "now in final negotiations to open Off-Broadway this summer in New York," according to a release.

Jewtopia follows the story of two single guys — a Jew and a Gentile — on the verge of turning 30 who are obsessed with dating women of the other's religion. The two devise a plan to help both their causes by teaching one another their cultures.

The cast includes writers Fogel and Wolfson along with Cheryl David, Alan Charof, Lorry Goldman, Linda Shing, Jackie Tohn and Jenni Pulos.

The design team of Jewtopia includes Desma Murphy (set), Rand Ryan (lighting), Ann Closs-Farley (costume) and John Zalewski (sound).
