In a statement producer Ken Davenport said, "Godspell is about a community, and about how everyone belongs to that community. Like all the other Broadway shows, we were going to cancel our lottery on opening night. But, frankly, that's just not Godspell. So on Monday night, it's lottery as usual. And because of where our lottery seats are, the winners may have better seats than I do!"

Winners of the lottery will also be given an opportunity to purchase tickets to the post-show celebration at Planet Hollywood.

For the opening performance, the lottery drawing will take place at 5:30 PM outside the Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th Street). Entries will be accepted between 4 PM and 5:15 PM.

There is a limit of one entry per person and two tickets per winner. Winners must be present at time of drawing and a valid ID must be shown to purchase tickets. Lottery tickets are $30 each and may be purchased with cash only. Winners of the lottery should be dressed appropriately (business attire), and no bags are permitted.

Directed by Daniel Goldstein with choreography by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli, the cast of Godspell comprises Hunter Parrish (Spring Awakening, "Weeds") as Jesus, Wallace Smith (American Idiot) as Judas, Uzo Aduba (Coram Boy), Nick Blaemire (Cry-Baby), Celisse Henderson ("The Electric Company," In Transit), Morgan James (Wonderland, The Addams Family), Telly Leung (Rent, "Glee"), Lindsay Mendez (Everyday Rapture, Grease), Anna Maria Perez de Tagle ("Hannah Montana," "Fame") and George Salazar (Spring Awakening national tour).
