Moreno will succeed Eduardo Machado, who has been the artistic director of INTAR (or International Arts Relations, Inc.) since 2004 and will continue to work with the company as a director and playwright. Moreno said in a statement, "I am honored to return to INTAR as artistic director and continue the important work of nurturing new Latino plays and voices at every level of development at the theater I have always called home."

Moreno served as INTAR's associate artistic director from 2005-2006 and has participated in over 40 productions, workshops and readings at the theatre since 1989. He most recently served as co-artistic director of Twilight Theatre Company, and was previously the associate artistic director of Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Moreno also serves as an associate producer with the 24-Hour Play Company.

INTAR will announce its season at a kick-off event Sept. 13 in the theatre's Studio Space (500 W. 52nd Street). The event will feature performances by Flack Navaja and the company of Speed the Musical, by Andrea Thome. For more information, call (212) 695-6134 or visit intartheatre.org.
