News   Louise Dearman to Star in World Premiere of Water Babies at U.K.'s Curve Leicester
Louise Dearman will star in the previously announced world premiere of Water Babies, a new musical inspired by Charles Kingsley's novel, that will begin performances April 24, 2014, prior to an official opening May 6, at the U.K.'s Curve Leicester for a run through May 17.

Featuring music by Chris Egan and book and lyrics by Ed Curtis (who also directs) and Guy Jones, it is being produced by Peter Shaw and Joanna Cecil for Water Babies Musical UK Limited, with Tristan Baker as executive producer. Dearman is the first actress to have played both Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked in the West End. Other West End credits include Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly (in which she played Sarah Brown). On tour she has played the Narrator in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jan in the U.K. tour of Grease, Lucy Harris in Jekyll and Hyde and Eva Peron in Evita. In December she will release her third album, "In Time," a companion to her forthcoming tour in 2014 of the same name.

She will play Mrs D in Water Babies. In the show, Tom, our orphaned teenage hero, is framed for a crime he didn't commit. In a desperate attempt to escape capture he is trapped on the edge of a waterfall. His only choice is to jump. Awakening in the depths of the ocean he encounters the mysterious Mrs D, and a whole new world of enchantment, danger and adventure.
