The sequel to Lloyd Webber's global hit The Phantom of the Opera opened at London's Adelphi Theatre March 9. Critics were cool on the musical that follows the Phantom and Christine from Paris to Coney Island ten years after the original musical ends.

Love Never Dies has been announced for a Broadway debut this spring at the Neil Simon Theatre, though reports in the New York Post and the New York Times say the musical's arrival this season is very unlikely. Productions in Toronto and Australia have also been mentioned.

Representatives for the Broadway run denied rumors that Love Never Dies will not open in spring 2011 on Broadway.

Lloyd Webber penned the score to Love Never Dies, which has lyrics by Glenn Slater. Lloyd Webber, Slater, Ben Elton and director Jack O'Brien are credited with the book.

The musical stars Ramin Karimloo as Mr. Y (The Phantom) opposite Sierra Boggess as Christine. The two stars are also announced to star in the Broadway run. The musical is directed by Jack O'Brien and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.
