Lucie Arnaz, who was most recently on Broadway in Pippin in 2014, is promising “music and fun” at a special September 25 New York Pops Underground concert to raise money for the orchestra’s music education programs, which reach more than 5,000 New York City students each year.

Pops Music Director Steven Reineke is hosting the event at Feinstein’s/54 Below cabaret in Manhattan. It will begin with a champagne reception at 5:30 PM, followed by the performance by Arnaz and her band at 6:30 PM. The event will also feature a brief educational activity led by PopsEd Teaching Artists, and a dinner with wine pairings.

A Pops spokesperson told Playbill Arnaz is considering doing a set similar to her “Latin Roots” show, which she has performed in Florida and elsewhere.

Arnaz originated the role of Sonia in the Marvin Hamlisch-Carol Bayer Sager musical They’re Playing Our Song, and replaced major roles in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Lost in Yonkers, and the aforementioned Pippin, and starred in the 2000 London musical The Witches of Eastwick. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the 1980 film The Jazz Singer.

Reineke said, “The New York Pops annual cabaret evening is one of our most intimate and exciting events each year. I couldn’t believe how electric Lucie Arnaz’s performance was when I saw her last, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us in September!”
