News Ludwig's Three Musketeers Kicks Off Seattle Rep Season Oct. 2 Hans Altwies, Jeffrey M. Bender and Ryan Shams are The Three Musketeers at the Seattle Repertory Theatre beginning Oct. 2.

Kyle Donnelly directs the stage adaptation penned by Tony nominee Ken Ludwig that will officially open Oct. 10 and run through Nov. 15. Three Musketeers is the first offering of Seattle Rep's 2008-2009 season.

The swashbuckling title trio includes Altwies as Athos, Bender as Porthos and Shams as Aramis in a company that features Andrew William Smith (D'Artagnan), Jim Abele (Cardinal Richelieu), Geoffrey Alm (Father/Treville), Cheyenne Casebier (Milady), Alban Dennis (Buckingham/King Louis), Montana von Fliss (Sabine), Jennifer Sue Johnson (Constance), Ellen Karas (Queen Anne), Shawn Law (Rochefort) and Michael Rossmy (Bassile) with ensemble members Justin Alley, Kate Kraay and David Goldstein.

Ludwig's adaptation is described as a "fresh, fast-paced, and hilarious adaptation of one of literature's most thrilling romantic adventures. The dashing musketeers — and one plucky kid sister — swashbuckle their way through nefarious villains, international intrigue, and exotic ladies. It's 'all for one and one for all!' in an action-packed update of this beloved classic."

Designing Three Musketeers are John Arnone (set design), Nan Cibula-Jenkins (costume design), Nancy Schertler (lighting design), Lindsay Jones and Will Pickens (sound design), Rick Sordelet and Michael Rossmy (fight directors), Sonia Dawkins (choreographer) and Wayne Barker (composer).
