Entitled Celebrate Sondheim, the Sept. 25 event will be the annual fundraiser for Connecticut's Westport Country Playhouse, where Sondheim interned nearly 60 years ago. According to a press statement, the one-night-only event will boast the talents of Tony Award winners Patti LuPone, Kristin Chenoweth and Barbara Cook as well as current Wedding Singer star Laura Benanti. Additional performers are expected to join the concert as well.
A 6 PM cocktail reception with guest-of-honor Sondheim will begin the evening, following by the 7:30 PM concert and dinner at 9 PM. Tickets are priced $500 (cocktail party and concert) or $1,000 and $2,000 (cocktail party, performance and dinner).
