Classic Arts News Lyric Opera of Chicago Launches Free Podcast Series "Backstage at Lyric," a new series of free podcasts from Lyric Opera of Chicago, gets started today at the company's website.
The audio programs, to appear every week or two during the company's season, feature interviews with the singers, conductors and creative team members behind the productions in Lyric Opera's 2007-08 season.

The debut episode, hosted by staff dramaturg Roger Pines, presents a conversation with soprano Elizabeth Futral and tenor Joseph Calleja, who star as Violetta and Alfredo in the Frank Corsaro production of Verdi's La traviata that opens the season on September 29. The second podcast, available next week, features Mark Delavan, who plays the elder Germont.

Listeners can download and subscribe to the "Backstage at Lyric" podcasts, or listen to them online in streaming audio, at www.lyricopera.org/podcast.
