News MAC Awards Welcome Submissions from Unknown Songwriters Through Oct. 15 The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) has announced they are soliciting submissions for the 6th Annual Dottie Burman and John Wallowitch Songwriting Awards, Oct. 1.

The submission period is open through Oct. 15.

The Dottie Burman Award winners will receive a $500 prize, certificate and a performance of their song at the MAC Presents They Write the Songs Nov. 16 at Engleman Recital Hall at Baruch College. Eligible songwriters must be age 40 and over, and cannot have received significant recognition for their work in the music industry, nor can they have previously submitted for a MAC award.

The John Wallowitch Award winners will also receive a $500 prize, certificate and a performance of their song at the MAC Presents They Write the Songs Nov. 16 at Engleman Recital Hall at Baruch College. Eligible songwriters must be age 39 and under, and cannot have received significant recognition for their work in the music industry, nor can they have previously submitted for a MAC award.

Submissions for both awards require three songs.
