News Machiavelli Set to Return in September Richard Vetere’s Machiavelli, which played a limited engagement at Manhattan Theatre Source in January, will begin a second New York run Sept. 13 at the ArcLight Theatre.

Directed by Evan Bergman, the comic play will officially open Sept. 24 and will run through Nov. 5. The production features Jason Howard, Stephanie Janssen, Chip Phillips, Liza Vann, James Wetzel and Lex Woutas. The creative team includes Maruti Evans (set and lighting design) and Michael Bevins (costume design).

Machiavelli, according to press notes, “tells the story of how the world’s most famous political thinker used his genius to survive and outsmart the ruthless Medici family while bringing democracy to Florence during the Renaissance in the 1500’s.” Playwright Vetere has also penned One Shot One Kill, Gangster Apparel, The Engagement and First Love.

Machiavelli will play Tuesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM with matinees Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets, priced $45, are available by calling (212) 239-6200. Visit www.machiavellitheplay.com for more information.
