The celebration of New York City's African American Broadway history will be presented at the Minskoff Theatre and will benefit Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centers. The evening promises to feature a revue of Broadway classics and to pay tribute to directors, producers, actors and musicians who have lent their work to the Broadway stage.
The awards will also honor the cultural contributions of composer Krieger (Dreamgirls, Side Show, The Tap Dance Kid), actress LaChanze (Once on This Island, The Color Purple) and actor-director Van Peebles (Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death, Don't Play Us Cheap!).
For tickets, priced $65-$250, visit OYRProductions. The Minskoff Theatre is located at 1515 Broadway.
