News Maguire Is a Wild Man Beginning in NYC Jan. 11 Obie-winning performer Matthew Maguire takes audiences through the untamed side of life in his solo show Wild Man, which begins performances Jan. 11 at the Wild Project.

Written, directed and performed by Maguire, Wild Man will play a six-performance run Jan. 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26. Lighting design is by Ryan Seelig. According to press notes, "Maguire grapples with mortality as he explores the wildest moments of his own life. Probing everything from ecstasy to runaway horses, from the Book of Esdras to smuggling watermelons, from the Church of Scientology to the art of cheatin' death, this deeply personal and compelling journey exposes the Wild Man in each of us, and begs us to unleash him."

Maguire's numerous works include The Seven Deadly Elements, based on the collage novel by Max Ernst, Eye Figure Fiction, Untitled (The Dark Ages Flat Out), The American Mysteries, The Memory Theatre of Giulio Camillo, Propaganda, Fun City, Visions of Don Juan, The Tower, Babel Stories, Chaos and The Window Man.

Maguire's Creation Production Company presents the engagement. For tickets, visit Ovationtix. The Wild Project is located at 195 E. 3rd Street in Manhattan.
