The NYPD and the Times Square Business Improvement District (TS-BID) have issued a major traffic alert for the afternoon and early evening on March 28, due to a large union protest demonstration in front of the MTA Headquarters at 345 Madison Avenue. Traffic in the area will be diverted by the police beginning as early as 1 PM. The affected area is bordered on the east and west by Third and Seventh Avenues respectively, and runs north from 42 St. to 47 St.

An NYPD source told Playbill On Line that 5,000 transit workers from Local Union 100 will be on hand protesting benefit cuts from 5 - 7 PM.

Theatre patrons for both matinees and evening shows may wish to adjust their travel and parking plans accordingly.
