COSTA MESA, CA -- David Mamet's Oleanna is being produced by South Coast Rep on the company's Second Stage Mar. 3-Apr. 5, opening Mar. 6.
Directed by SCR artistic director Martin Benson, Mamet's 1992 exploration of sexual politics in the workplace will play Tues.-Fri. at 8 PM; Sat. at 2.30 and 8 PM; and Sun. at 2.30 and 7.30 PM. For tickets, call (714) 708- 5555.
Michael Canavan and Lynsey McLeod will star in the drama, which is designed by John Iacovelli (set), Amy L. Hutto (costumes) and Tom Ruzika (lighting).
Other plays by Mamet include The Old Neighborhood, The Cryptogram and Sexual Perversity in Chicago.
* In other South Coast Rep news, Chris Gross, publicity director for the company, confirms a Theatrical Index report that the next play, Richard Greenberg's Hurrah At Last, will star George Coe and Judy Blazer, the latter recently in Titanic. Peter Frechette (Greenberg's The Extra Man at Manhattan Theatre Club), Bradley Whitford (Greenberg's Three Days of Rain at Manhattan Theatre Club) and Ileen Getz are also in the cast.
Rehearsals for Hurrah are scheduled for April 28. Previews start May 22 for an opening May 29 and a run through June 28.
David Warren, who staged a revival of Holiday for Circle in the Square, will direct.
Greenberg's other plays include Eastern Standard, Night and Her Stars, Three Days of Rain, The Extra Man and The American Plan.
