On Feb. 12, 2005, the Cirkus in Stockholm will begin performances of Mamma Mia!, the blockbuster musical that features the songs of ABBA. Catherine Johnson's book will be translated into Swedish by Peter Dalle, and the ABBA lyrics will be translated by Niklas Stromstedt. Auditions for the musical are scheduled to begin in March 2004 in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo. Tickets will go on sale to groups this May and to the rest of the public at the end of August. The songs of ABBA are used to tell the story of a young bride-to-be who wants to find out the identity of her father. Without telling her mother, who now owns a hotel on a Greek island, she invites the three possible dads. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the creative team for Mamma Mia! includes Anthony Van Laast (choreography), Mark Thompson (set design), Howard Harrison (lighting design), Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken (sound design) and Martin Koch (musical supervision and arrangements).

On Broadway Mamma Mia! plays the Winter Garden Theatre, which is located in New York City at 1634 Broadway. For tickets, log on-line to Click here. Mamma Mia! is on the web at http://www.mamma mia.com.
