With Prince of Broadway now in previews, Manhattan Theatre Club is set to further celebrate the legendary career of 21-time Tony winner Harold Prince at its 2017 Fall Benefit. The event, held October 23 at 583 Park Avenue, will honor the director-producer and his many achievements.

Prince has a long history with MTC, having served on the organization’s Board of Directors from 2006–2013. MTC produced the Prince-helmed LoveMusik on Broadway 2007, and is currently behind the Broadway debut of Prince of Broadway, now in previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

The show, which will officially open August 24, is a musical retrospective that celebrates his work on Broadway. The production, co-directed by Prince and Susan Stroman, features both biographical material and songs from many of the shows that earned him a record 21 Tony Awards, including the original productions of West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Company, Sweeney Todd, Evita, and The Phantom of the Opera.

MTC’s Fall Benefit will kick off with cocktails followed by dinner and a tribute to Prince. All proceeds from the event will support the theatre’s initiatives and programming.

Sue Bovenkerk Slager, Sharon Sullivan, Lisa Towbin and Susan Winter are co-chairs of the 2017 Fall Benefit.
