Producer Marc Routh has been elected the new president of The League of Off-Broadway Theatres and Producers, the 40-year-old theatrical producing organization whose members include nearly all of Off Broadway's major moneymen. Roth replaces departing president Barry Grove, of Manhattan Theatre Club. Routh has co-produced such shows as Stomp, Smokey Joe's Cafe, The Weir and Swing!, among others. He is general manager of Richard Frankel Productions.

Routh won the 1997 Robert Whitehead Award for "outstanding achievement in commercial producing."
