Solo performer Marga Gomez will extend her successful New York Fringe Festival show, jaywalker [sic], at San Francisco's Theatre Rhinoceros through Dec. 18. Performances, which began Nov. 11, were orginally set to end Dec. 12.
jaywalker is a one-woman rampage against Hollywood that erupts into littering, loitering and jaywalking when a law-abiding Latina pedestrian is denied her dream to become the first lesbian on "Baywatch." Inspired by her run-in with the John Tesh Day and Star Dedication Ceremony that proves anyone can be famous, she embarks on a misdemeanor crime spree, fueled by her frustration with Jennifer Lopez and chihuahuas getting all the Latin attention.
Harlem-native Gomez has written and performed three solo shows (A Line Around the Block, Memory Tricks and Marga Gomez is Pretty, Witty & Gay) and performed in New York at both the Public Theater and the Whitney Museum. As a comic, she released her first recording "Hung Like a Fly." Recently she appeared in Barry Levinson's "Sphere" and as a guest star on TV's "Tracey Takes On..."
Tickets are $20-$12 and can be reserved by calling (415) 861-5079. Theatre Rhinoceros is located at 2926 16th Street at South Van Ness.
