The New York premiere of Cho's show, which will travel through many of the swing states prior to Election Day, is timed to coincide with the Republican Convention. State of Emergency, according to production notes, "will evolve and change to reflect and comment on current events, news and developments leading up to the election." In a statement, performer Cho said, "It’s a raw interpretation of what’s happening daily in our ever-evolving or devolving state of the union." In addition to her numerous stand-up gigs, Cho starred in her own TV series, "All-American Girl," and has also appeared on screen in "The Tavern," "Can't Stop Dancing," "The Thin Pink Line," "Ground Control," "Fakin' Da Funk," "Pink as the Day She Was Born," "Sweethearts," "It's My Party" and "The Doom Generation." The ACLU will honor Cho with its First Amendment Award next month.
