News Margaret Colin Crowned Princess in Williamstown Sweet Bird of Youth Margaret Colin, recently seen Off-Broadway in Defiance, has landed the choice role of Princess Kosmonopolis in the Williamstown Theatre Festival revival of Tennessee Williams' Sweet Bird of Youth.

Additionally, Gerry Bamman will play Boss Finley in the David Jones-directed production. As previously announced, the cast will include Derek Cecil as Chance Wayne, Ted Koch as George Scudder, Beth Fowler as Aunt Nonnie and Betsy Aidem as Miss Lucy. Dates are July 19-30.

Geraldine Page famously created the role of Princess in the 1959 Broadway debut of the drama. Irene Worth played it in a 1975 Broadway revival.

Colin, an admired New York stage veteran, has appeared Off-Broadway in Triptych, on Broadway in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg and played Jackie Kennedy in Broadway's Jackie.

In other casting news, Gregg Edelman will play the role of Bill and Kaitlin Hopkins will play the part of Lucia in the Festival’s production of the new musical The Opposite of Sex. They join the previously announced Kerry Butler (Hairspray) and David Burtka. Those two actors will repeat the roles they played in the San Francisco premiere of the work in fall 2004. The musical, by Douglas J. Cohen and Robert Jess Roth, is based on the film of the same name by Don Roos. It follows the conniving 16-year-old Dedee Truitt (Butler) as she moves in with her now-wealthy, gay half-brother Bill and ends up pregnant by his new boyfriend Matt (Burtka). Roth directs on the Nikos Stage. Dates are Aug. 9-20.

Additionally, Enid Graham will play the role of Lady Capulet in the Festival’s production of Romeo and Juliet, which will star Emmy Rossum as Juliet. Rossum is best known to theatre audiences through her film role of Christine in "The Phantom of the Opera." Other movies include "Poseiden" and "Mystic River." Will Frears will pilot Romeo and Juliet, Aug. 2-13, with Bill Camp as Friar Laurence, Kristine Nielsen as the Nurse, Daniel Oreskes as Capulet, Paul O'Brien as Montague, Sandra Shipley as Lady Montague and Remy Auberjonois as Tybalt.

Carrie Preston will play Phillipa and Matt Letscher will play Duncan in the Festival’s production of Double Double, written by Roger Rees and Rick Elice (Jersey Boys).

As previously reported, Sharon Lawrence will be Reno Sweeney in the Williamstown Theatre Festival revival of Anything Goes. Lawrence is best known for her television roles in "NYPD Blue" and "Desperate Housewives." On stage, she has appeared in Broadway's Chicago and Off-Broadway's Tongue of a Bird.

The new production of Cole Porter's Anything Goes will feature Malcolm Gets as Evelyn, Matt Cavenaugh as Billy Crocker, Nikki Renee Daniels as Hope, Catherine Brunell as Bonnie, Remy Auberjonois as Moonface Martin, Tom Bloom as Elijah Whitney, Sandra Shipley as Mrs. Harcourt, and Paul O'Brien as Captain. The show will play the Main Stage July 5-16. Roger Rees will direct.
