A special 7 PM Sunday performance of Wit on Nov. 14 will include a post-show interview with playwright Margaret Edson, who has kept a low profile considering the spotlight on her Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
The evening is a benefit for The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and Ronald McDonald House. The play, at the Union Square Theatre (100 E. 17th Street) in Manhattan, follows Dr. Vivian Bearing, a poetry professor facing mortality as she confronts the final stages of ovarian cancer.
The post-show chat is hosted by New York Times writer Dinitia Smith.
Judith Light stars in the drama by schoolteacher-playwright Edson. The author has told the press she's not interested in pursuing a playwriting career, and is quite happy with her life as a teacher.
