It1s a big season for Goldman's historical drama. A New York production of Lion starring Stockard Channing as Eleanor and Laurence Fishburne as King Henry II, is scheduled for Feb. 1999 at the Roundabout Theatre Company, with Michael Mayer (Side Man) directing.

The La Mirada mounting is directed by Richard Seyd and also features Matthew Boston, Justine Boyriven, Michael DeGood, Adam Gordon and Jamison Jones. La Mirada's schedule continues with A Tuna Christmas (Jan. 22-Feb. 7, 1999), Joe Sears and Jaston Williams' yuletide look as the residents of Tuna, Texas; Always Patsy Cline (Apr. 9-25, 1999), the story of the friendship between late country singer Patsy Cline and Texas housewife Louise Seger; and the classic musical Guys and Dolls (dates and cast to be announced).
