On the Exhale is scheduled to begin performances February 7, 2017, at Roundabout’s Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. The limited engagement will officially open February 28 and play through April 2.

The newest work from the Narcos writer looks at gun violence in American through the unique lens of a liberal college professor pushed to violence, played by Ireland.

Here’s how Roundabout bills On the Exhale: “When a senseless act of violence changes her life forever, a liberal college professor finds herself inexplicably drawn to the very weapon used to perpetrate the crime—and to the irresistible feeling of power that comes from holding life and death in her hands. Peering down the barrel of a uniquely American crisis, she begins to suspect that when it comes to gun violence, we’re all part of the problem.”

Now in its tenth season, Roundabout Underground is an initiative dedicated to producing new works. On the Exhale will be the second production in Roundabout Underground’s newly expanded two-play season, following Rachel Weiner’s Kingdom Come this fall.

Tickets will be available to purchase November 14. The Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre is located at 111 West 46th Street, New York. For more information visit roundabouttheatre.org.
