Entitled He Said/She Said, the new concert act by the Broadway couple will be performed Feb. 14-16, 2013, at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA; Feb. 17 at the Bay Area Cabaret in San Francisco, CA; Feb. 23, 2013, at the Annenberg Theatre at the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Springs, CA; and March 23 at the NJ Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ.
He Said/She Said, according to press notes, is a "hot-hearted, cool-headed musical conversation between lovers that spotlight the swingin'est composers of the Great American Songbook. This joint-jumpin' collaboration includes brand new arrangements of tunes by Jimmy Van Heusen, Johnny Mercer, Dorothy Fields, Harold Arlen, Sammy Cahn with notable songs such as 'All The Way,' 'Something’s Gotta Give,' 'A Fine Romance' and 'The Tender Trap.'"
Mazzie is a three-time Tony Award nominee for her performances in Kiss Me, Kate; Ragtime; and Passion. Her other theatrical credits include Next to Normal, Enron, Into the Woods, Big River, The World Goes 'Round, the City Center Encores! productions of Kismet and Out of this World and Off-Broadway's Carrie, The Trojan Women: A love Story, where she met husband Danieley. Mazzie also starred in the London production of Kiss Me, Kate, where she earned an Olivier Award nomination for her work. She was also seen in the Actors' Fund of America's concert staging of On the Twentieth Century, and she completed runs in both the New York and London companies of Spamalot.
Jason Danieley, acclaimed for his performance in Broadway's Curtains, played Dr. Rey in the Signature Theatre's production of The Highest Yellow. He starred on Broadway as Malcolm MacGregor in The Full Monty, a role he repeated in London. For his Broadway debut in Candide, Danieley received a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk nomination. His other theatrical credits include the City Center Encores! production of Strike Up the Band as well as Off-Broadway runs in Dream True and Floyd Collins.
The Broadway couple will also be seen on Playbill's Broadway on the High Seas 2, a ten-day trip through Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil featuring entertainment from a host of Broadway favorites, launching Dec. 6. Read more about it here.
