Mario Cantone, the comic actor who has performed everything from Sondheim to Shakespeare to solo shows on Broadway, makes his Café Carlyle club debut June 20–23.
His Tony-nominated autobiographical 2004 one-man show, Laugh Whore, was adapted as a special on Showtime. Other stage credits have included Sam Byck in the 2004 revival of Assassins, Buzz in Terrence McNally’s Love! Valor! Compassion!, and Stephano in Shakespeare’s The Tempest at the Public Theater and on Broadway. Cantone might be best-known as Anthony on Sex and the City.
