Compassion!, Over & Over in Washington D.C.) will headline two backers' readings of a play by Buddy Thomas, The Crumple Zone, scheduled for Los Angeles' Matrix Theatre April 17 and New York's Actors Playhouse April 25. According to producer Marcus Kettles, the show is targeting an Off Broadway run (possibly at the Actor's Playhouse or the Lucille Lortel Theatre) in the fall.

Actor-comedian Mario Cantone (Love! Valour! Compassion!, Over & Over in Washington D.C.) will headline two backers' readings of a play by Buddy Thomas, The Crumple Zone, scheduled for Los Angeles' Matrix Theatre April 17 and New York's Actors Playhouse April 25. According to producer Marcus Kettles, the show is targeting an Off Broadway run (possibly at the Actor's Playhouse or the Lucille Lortel Theatre) in the fall.

Set in Staten Island at Christmastime, The Crumple Zone tells of four gay men coming to terms with their inability to maintain relationships. Winner of the 1998 New Voices Play Award, The Crumple Zone premiered at Chicago's Bailiwick Repertory. Other plays by Thomas include Physical.

Co-starring with Cantone in Zone are Paul Pecorino (OB's Making Porn), Steve Mateo, Darren Wade and Greg Amend (Burning Habits OOB). Directing is Jason Moore, current resident director for the various Les Miserables companies across the U.S.
