Marisa Tomei Will Be Honored at MCC Theater's Miscast Gala | Playbill

News Marisa Tomei Will Be Honored at MCC Theater's Miscast Gala Oscar winner Marisa Tomei will be honored at MCC Theater's annual Miscast Gala April 4, 2016, at The Hammerstein Ballroom. The annual gala features Broadway stars performing songs from shows and roles in which they would never be cast.

In a statement Tomei said, “I have a deep love for MCC Theater and the important work it champions. That love affair started in MCC’s first season when I took on the role of Blue in Alan Bowne’s world premiere of Beirut. My experience with MCC has guided me ever since. The relationships I made, the knowledge I gained – so much of that is still a part of my life today. I am thrilled to be honored at the Miscast Gala and play a role in this celebratory night supporting the essential work that defines MCC Theater.”

The gala will include cocktails, a silent auction, dinner, an honoree celebration and a revue.

Performers for the event have yet to be announced.

Past performers include Uzo Aduba, Norbert Leo Butz, Annaleigh Ashford, Megan Hilty, Raúl Esparza, Ben Platt, Kelli O'Hara, Brian D'Arcy James, Steven Pasquale, Jeremy Jordan, Laura Benanti, Jesse L. Martin, Zosia Mamet and many others.
