Blum will begin performances in the starry political drama on June 5 at 7 PM. James Lecesne has played the part since May 22, when McKean was struck by a car in Manhattan. McKean, whose leg was broken, recently Tweeted, "I appreciate all the good wishes. I'm thankful every day it wasn't worse. You've all helped a ton." McKean's manager has turned down Playbill interview requests.

Blum recently appeared Off-Broadway in Paul Weitz's Lonely, I'm Not at Second Stage, We Live Here by Zoe Kazan at Manhattan Theatre Club and After the Revolution for Playwrights Horizons. He won an Obie for Gus and Al. His Broadway credits include Twelve Angry Men, The Graduate, A Thousand Clowns, Lost in Yonkers, My Thing of Love and The Merchant.

Lecesne usually plays Mitch Graham, a reporter from the Washington Post. He is making his Broadway debut in the revival.

The Best Man — nominated for a 2012 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play as well as a Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play nomination for James Earl Jones — continues to Sept. 9 at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
