Pianist, singer and vaudevillian Mark Nadler, who recently played piano onstage with Dame Edna: The Royal Tour, is resurrecting his Sardi's Soirees in Hootenanny 2000, which will take place every Saturday this month, including Feb. 5 and Feb.12 at 10 PM, Feb. 19 at 9 PM, and Feb. 26 at 10 PM.
Production sources describe Nadler as a cross between Victor Borge, Chico Marx and Peter Allen.
A source at Sardi's said reservation volume was good for the show.
Nadler's format for the Sardi's hootenanny blends professional entertainers, with whom he rehearses, with plenty of room for improvisations.
Past guests have included KT Sullivan, Heather MacRae, Susannah McCorkle, Karen Mason, Charles Busch, David Campbell, Steve Ross, Eric Comstock, Freddie Roman, Marilyn Sokol and Clairborne Cary. The Sardi's shows start at 10:30 PM every Saturday night in February. Sardi's is located at 234 West 44 Street. There is a $15 cover/$12 food and beverage minimum. For reservations call (212) 221-8440.
