News Mark Snyder's As Wide As I Can See Premieres at HERE Feb. 23 A backyard barbecue ignites tension between friends in the world premiere of Mark Snyder's As Wide As I Can See, which begins performances Feb. 23 at the HERE Arts Center.

At Hand Theatre Company artistic director Dan Horrigan directs the production that will run through March 10. As Wide As I Can See is produced by Justin Scribner and Matthew DiCarlo.

The cast includes Ryan Barry (In The Summer Pavilion), Mélisa Breiner-Sanders (Rosemary with Ginger), Kay Capasso (Othello), Julie Leedes (Kiss & Cry), Joshua Levine (Channeling Kevin Spacey) and Conan McCarthy (When We Go Upon the Sea).

Here's how the play is billed: "As Wide As I Can See is set in the backyard of a recession-stricken Ohio town, where the beer is on ice and the citronellas are ready to be lit. Dean, a disillusioned journalist, and his freeloading best friend unwittingly prepare for the most explosive barbecue of their lives. Tensions mount when Dean's girlfriend inadvertently invites a mysterious woman from his past to the party. Burgers are flipped and scores are settled in this new drama about remembering who you were and confronting who you've become."

The production has set design by David L. Arsenault, costume design by Nicole Wee, lighting design by Josh Bradford and sound design by Colin Whitely.

Snyder's plays also include A Decent Stretch, Wipe Away, Lila Cante, The Beanbag Game, Lilith on Today and The Sounds of Ice. Tickets are $18 and are available at  (212) 352-3101 or HERE.org. HERE Arts Center is located at 145 Avenue of Americas at Dominick Street.
