Obituaries Mark Swain Upchurch, Talent Agent, Dead at 47 Mark Swain Upchurch, a talent agent for Leading Artists Inc., died suddenly in New York City on April 26 from a heart attack. He was 47 years old.

Born Jan. 12, 1957 in Durham, North Carolina, Mr. Upchurch graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and began working as a talent agent in the children's department of the J. Michael Bloom Agency. He moved on to work at Henderson-Hogan Agency Inc. in 1996, then to Peter Strain & Associates Inc. in 1998. In 1999, he started as a senior talent agent at Leading Artists Inc. (formerly Silver, Massetti and Szatmary). Mr. Upchurch is survived by his domestic partner Darley Junqueira of New York City; mother Peggy Upchurch of Durham, NC; brothers Keith Upchurch and Stan Upchurch of Durham, NC; nephew Adam Lance Upchurch of Charlotte, NC and nephew Dustin Matthew Upchurch of Durham, NC. His father Roger S. Upchurch and twin brother Alan Young Upchurch predeceased Mr. Upchurch.

Funeral services with a reception to follow will be held Wednesday, May 5 at 6 PM at St. Bartholomew's Church 109 East 50th Street (entrance on Park Avenue between 50 and 51 Street). All are welcome to attend and bring a copy of a photo or a written story for a memorial scrapbook.
