News Marks' Bird House Flies into Theater 3 Beginning July 10 The world premiere of Kate Marks' wartime coming-of-age play Bird House begins its engagement Off-Off Broadway at Theater 3 July 10.

Directed by Heidi Handelsman, Bird House plays a three-week engagement through July 26. The KNF Co (Love, Incorporated) produces the run.

The cast features Ora Fruchter, Kylie Goldstein, Wendy Scharfman, Christina Shipp, Anthony Wills Jr. and Cotton Wright.

Press notes for Bird House read: "An army of puppets and a magical wind create two fantastical worlds. On The Bright Side, Louisy and Syl live happily together in the safety of their treehouse until Syl ventures off to be a hero in the far away war-torn Lop Side. Alone for the first time, Louisy falls victim to the whims of tiny creatures at her doorstep. When the two sides collide, impossibilities become real, and both realize the lines between right and wrong are not as clear as they thought."

Designing the production are Sara C. Walsh (scenic design), Rebecca M.K. Makus (lighting design), Alex Koch (video/projection design), Jessica Pabst (costume design) and Quentin Chiappetta (original music/sound design).

Marks' plays include A Chicken Goes to Broadway, Flyers and Other Tales, Ark, I-95 South and The Patriots. She has penned the screenplays for "Mouse Hole," "Jumped" and "Wanted." For tickets, priced $18, phone (212) 352-3101. Theater 3 is located at 311 West 43rd Street in Manhattan.
