The two-time Tony-winning actor announced his new status the evening of Nov. 19 while taking part in a 92nd Street Y panel discussion with comedian Joy Behar. He described Elliott, a producer, playwright and one-time actor, as “a wonderful writer and wonderful man." Noting the fact that he was taking part in the panel just a day after his nuptials, Behar cracked, “That means that you’re spending your honeymoon at the 92nd Street Y.”
Lane, who won another of his Tony Awards as star of The Producers, married an actual producer. Elliott was one of the producers of the 2009 Ragtime revival, which earned a Tony nomination. His TV acting credits include "The X-Files" and "Frasier." He's listed as co-owner of Maberry Theatricals Inc.
As reported previously on Playbill.com, Lane and Elliott are co-authors of a 2014 children’s book about their French bulldog, “Naughty Mabel.”
