PlayBlog Martha Makes It in "America" Theatre fans will see a familiar face among the cast of HBO’s new comedy series “How To Make it in America," which debuts Feb. 14.


Martha Plimpton, most recently seen on Broadway as Gladys Bumps in the revival of Pal Joey, is on the roster for the show, the latest offering from the producers of HBO’s “Entourage.”

According to hbo.com, "'How to Make It in America' follows two enterprising Brooklyn twentysomethings as they hustle their way through New York City, determined to achieve the American Dream. Trying to make a name for themselves in New York's competitive fashion scene, Ben Epstein and his friend and business partner Cam Calderon use their street knowledge and connections to bring their ambitions to fruition.”

Plimpton stars as Edie Weitz, described as “a self-made interior designer, who believes she is saving the world 300-square feet at a time.”

Plimpton’s other Broadway credits include Shining City, Cymbeline, Top Girls and The Coast of Utopia trilogy at Lincoln Center.

The cast also includes Bryan Greenberg, Victor Rasuk, Lake Bell, Shannyn Sossamon, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Luis Guzman and musical artist Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi.
