Short will reunite with Emmy and Tony winner Andrea Martin (Pippin, Young Frankenstein), who stars in the upcoming comedy series. Eugene Levy, another "SCTV" alum, will also guest star. 

Four of the 12 episodes of the series will be directed by Jason Priestley.

The show follows the Engel family as they attempt to run their late father's storefront law firm, even though none of them is a lawyer. The family comes together while attempting to survive financially after their father's death leaves them in debt.

Short will play the head of a pastry firm who is involved in a lawsuit over ownership of a recipe.

Short's stage credits include The Goodbye Girl, Little Me and Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me. The Emmy winner's TV work includes "SCTV," "How I Met Your Mother," "Saturday Night Live" and "The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley."

The cast of "Working the Engels" also includes Kacey Rohl ("Hannibal"), Azura Skye ("American Horror Story," "American Dad!"), Benjamin Arthur ("American Reunion") and Scott Thompson ("The Kids in the Hall").
