It has been announced that Martine McCutcheon, My Fair Lady's Eliza Dolittle, will be on holiday from Oct. 1 to Oct 6. The young star will be taking a holiday during this time. Stepping into the part of Eliza will presumably be Martine's understudy, Alexandra Jay, who is reportedly remarkable in the role.

Cameron Mackintosh's critically acclaimed production of the Lerner and Loewe musical opened at the National's Lyttelton Theatre on March 15. The production, directed by Trevor Nunn, transferred with the original cast to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on July 21. My Fair Lady has been breaking records at the theatre and in the West End, having taken the largest box-office advance ever of £10 million.
