Mary Cleere Haran, the accomplished chanteuse who had a big success last fall with her all-Gershwin show at the Algonquin Hotel, will return to that lodging house's Oak Room this September with "Crazy Rhythm: Manhattan in the Twenties." As always, she will be accompanied by Sir Richard Rodney Bennett. The show will run Sept. 7-25 at 9 PM, with late shows at 11:30 PM on Friday and Saturday.

"Crazy Rhythm" is meant to evoke a bygone New York world of "speakeasies, dance halls, the Ziegfeld Follies, Harlem nightclubs, Broadway's flappers, gangsters, reporters, showgirls and chorines." The show will feature the music of the Gershwins, Gus Kahn, Irving Caesar, Ralph Rainger, Vincent Youmans, Rodgers & Hart and Irving Berlin.

Last year's "The Memory of All That: George Gershwin & His Songs coincided with the centennial of the composers birth and featured such Gershwin staples as "Who Cares?" and "They Can't Take That Away from Me," as well as lesser known pieces like "Nashville Nightingale" and "I'd Rather Charleston."

Haran's many albums include "There's a Small Hotel" and "Pennies from Heaven -- Movie Songs of the Depression."
