News   Mary Cleere Haran Returns to the Oak Room, May 28-June 29 Sophisticated songstress Mary Cleere Haran and her ever-present accompanist Richard Rodney Bennett will return to the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room May 28-June 29. The couple were a hit in that hall a couple years ago with a show about George Gershwin; last year, they played the Cafe Carlyle.

Sophisticated songstress Mary Cleere Haran and her ever-present accompanist Richard Rodney Bennett will return to the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room May 28-June 29. The couple were a hit in that hall a couple years ago with a show about George Gershwin; last year, they played the Cafe Carlyle.

Like so many people this Richard Rodgers centennial year, Haran and Bennett will examine the work of the great musical theatre composer, particularly those songs he wrote with Lorenz Hart. The show is titled, "Falling in Love with Love The Rodgers & Hart Story."

Haran is known by theatre fans for her rich interpretations of show tunes by such writers as Lorenz Hart, Irving Berlin, the Gershwins and Cole Porter (who are all represented in the new cabaret show).
