Smooth and hotly articulate American classic pop interpreter Mary Cleere Haran makes her Cafe Carlyle debut, singing Tin Pan Alley, Hollywood and Broadway hits from between the world wars in a show called Sweet & Low Down, Jan. 3-Feb 17, with Richard Rodney Bennett tickling the ivories.

The pair recently released a 16-track disc, "Crazy Rhythm: Manhattan in the '20s." Haran is known by theatre fans for her rich interpretations of show tunes by such writers as Lorenz Hart, Irving Berlin, the Gershwins and Cole Porter (who are all represented in the new cabaret show).

Murphy Davis directs Sweet & Low Down. Linc Milliman is on bass.

Performances are 8:45 PM and 10:45 PM Tuesday-Saturday. Music charge for all shows is $60. The Cafe Carlyle is in the Carlyle Hotel, Madison at 76th Street, in Manhattan.
