News Mary-Louise Parker, Michael Cerveris, Amy Ryan, Lois Smith and More to Read at Symphony Space Symphony Space has announced several upcoming readings as part of its Selected Shorts and Thalia Book Club series.

Notable Selected Shorts events will include "Roberto Bolano and the Writers He Admired" (Nov. 10 at 7 PM), billed as an "evening of stories by the late Chilean master ('The Savage Detectives,' '2666') and writers who inspired him, including pieces by Javier Marías, Nicanor Parra, and Jorge Luis Borges." The stories will be read by Michael Stuhlbarg (The Pillowman, "A Serious Man"), Felix Solis and Charles Keating. In the Dec. 8 Selected Shorts event, "An Evening with Colum McCann," the author of Let the Great World Spin will share one of his stories and some by his favorite authors. Mary-Louise Parker (Proof, "Weeds"), Amy Ryan (A Streetcar Named Desire, "Gone Baby Gone") and Michael Cerveris (Sweeney Todd, In the Next Room) will also appear.

On Nov. 15, Lois Smith (After the Revolution, The Trip to Bountiful) will read an excerpt from Nicole Krauss' "The History of Love" as part of the Thalia Book Club series.  Author Krauss will discuss her book with The New Yorker fiction editor Deborah Treisman.
