News   Mary Poppins Is Quitting! Watch Kristen Bell Sing About the Minimum Wage (Video)
"Frozen" star Kristen Bell picked up Julie Andrews' magic umbrella from "Mary Poppins" to advocate for a raise in the minimum wage in a video for Funny or Die.

Bell, playing Mary Poppins, says she is quitting her job because she is only paid the federal minimum wage. Singing rewritten lyrics to "A Spoonful of Sugar," Bell tells Jane and Michael Banks, "A three dollar increase can make a living wage... I don't get these birds for free."

Bell, who made her Broadway debut as Becky Thatcher in the musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, played opposite Liam Neeson and Laura Linney in The Crucible on Broadway. She starred in the Off-Broadway musical Reefer Madness, subsequently reprising her role in the TV version for Showtime.

Other TV credits include "Gracie's Choice," "Veronica Mars," "Heroes," "Burning Love," "Gossip Girl," "Unsupervised" and "House of Lies."

Film credits include "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," "Get Him To the Greek," "Burlesque" and "Scream 4."

Bell will next star as Sheila in the rock musical Hair at the Hollywood Bowl, along with Hunter Parrish, Amber Riley, Sarah Hyland, Benjamin Walker and Kevin Chamberlin. The skit is written by Eliza Skinner and Jake Fogelnest. Rachel Goldenberg directed.
