Airing at 10 AM ET on Dec. 25, the parade will feature the Mary Poppins leads performing the musical's signature song "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Also on hand will be Phantom of the Opera star Sarah Brightman, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers and Corbin Bleu. The parade will also feature selections from "Festival of the Lion King." Mary Poppins opened on Broadway on Nov. 16, 2006, at the New Amsterdam Theatre. The national tour, with Brown and Lee headlining, will premiere March 11, 2009, in Chicago.
Based on P.L. Travers' original stories and the 1964 Walt Disney film, Mary Poppins features the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, with additional songs from George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. Academy Award-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes penned the book for the stage production.
