News Mason, Blackhurst, West and More Set for NJPAC's Cabaret at the Chase Series The acclaimed Cabaret at the Chase series at Newark's New Jersey Performing Arts Center has announced its 2005-2006 line-up.

Tierney Sutton will kick off the series Nov. 5 with her blend of pop, standards and jazz. Sutton, who can be heard on her new CD "Dancing in the Dark," will perform in the intimate room at 7:30 PM.

Another jazz vocalist, Paula West, will follow on Dec. 10. West will offer tunes from the Great American Songbook during her 7:30 PM show.

Klea Blackhurst, who received much attention for her Ethel Merman tribute, now turns her attention to the songs of Vernon Duke. "Autumn in New York: Vernon Duke's Broadway" will be presented Jan. 28, 2006, and will feature Blackhurst's interpretations of such classics as "April in Paris" and "Taking a Chance on Love."

Broadway and cabaret star Karen Mason — most recently on Broadway in Mamma Mia! — will play the Chase Feb. 11 at 7:30 PM. Expect the singer-actress to offer tunes by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin and Stephen Sondheim.

The Chase season will include March 11 with Stacey Kent. Kent specializes in the love songs of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and George Gershwin and can be heard on her sixth CD, "Let Yourself Go," a tribute to Fred Astaire.
