Karen Mason (Sunset Boulevard), Kathleen Chalfant (Wit) and Ron Rifkin (Cabaret) will perform as part of "Riding the Wave of Optimism: What Happens as the Tide Turns", a conference on HIV/AIDS and the Arts. "Riding the Wave" will be held from 10 AM-4 PM at the Judson Memorial Church in Manhattan.
The fourth annual conference serves as a response to HIV/AIDS for the artistic community. The "Riding the Waves" forum will focus on maintaining creativity and goals in an HIV/AIDS-infected world. AIDS activist Sally Fisher is the keynote speaker. Panel discussions will feature Mark Dendy and Neil Greenberg.
An art exhibition, curated by Ricardo F. Morin, will include the works of Roger Batilo, Bradford Branch, Lucretia Crichlow, Peter Fraenkel, Gyda Gash, Rebecca Guberman, Affrekka Jefferson, Leslie Kaliades, Joyce McDonald, Ricardo Morin, Tara Popick, Greg Russell, Geoff Schmidt and Nora Wallower.
